De Smet Jesuit High School - Master Plan

In 2003, working with committees for each department, needs were gathered and tours of other schools took place. At the same time, drawings and schedules of all the existing rooms were prepared and totaled. A comparison between the needs of the school (based on current and projected student populations) and the available, existing space revealed the deficiencies of the campus.

Solutions were studied and the team agreed on a combination of new additions and renovated space that included:
Science labs, classrooms and lockers
New computer labs
Enlarged kitchen and larger dining space
Expanded counseling space
Additional stairs to reduce congestion
Upgrade to current code and lifesafety requirements
Additional performance and practice fields
Additional parking and improved drop-off/ pick-up
and student waiting areas.
